Discover Quebecer French

Your job requires you to travel to Quebec on a regular basis, or even to expatriate. Your first contacts with French-speaking Quebecers have been a discovery for you: Quebecer French is full of surprises, and sometimes these surprises can be the source of misunderstandings.

I’ve been teaching French as a Second Language and French as a Foreign Language since 2023 in Montreal to a majority of adults working in managerial positions or to students. They not only need to learn and familiarize themselves with French, but also with Quebecer French and Quebec culture.

I’m originally from Kanaky-New-Caledonia, where French is the language of communication, but Caledonian French has its own specificities. I’ve also lived in Switzerland, where Swiss French also has its own particularities. I like to say that if French grammar is the same for all French-speaking countries, on a daily basis, we have to deal with the specificities of the country where we live.

I’ll take you on a discovery of the French spoken in Quebec, using concrete exercises as well as numerous examples and aids. It will also be an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with your new culture and better understand its codes.
